Probably suggested already, but what about making note blocks play music? So you make a disc out of iron and then make a knife from iron or something and you can carve notes into it using workbench? Then when you hit note block it will open something like a chests window with one slot where you can place a disc and then every time you hit it, it would play a sound, so basically notes would be stored along with sounds, then going clockwise from the top of the disc the appropriate notes would be played, or maybe you could find discs in chests hidden inside caves? Either way would be nice to get note blocks with music. (Midi takes up lowest space, but leaves a poor sound, should be okay for this, but also you could do 1-2 second notes with mp3 and it'd only take up 1 MB at the most, so maybe only 5-10 notes?)
The reason why MineCraft PE put off in-game music for so long was because the music storage took up more space than the actual game. Maybe that's why Solverlabs doesn't add music? I dunno. Nice suggestion though, but note blocks using discs defeats the purpose of Juke boxes
BlueTangs Rock3,maybe how note blocks can make different instrumental sounds could be like how it is on MineCraft(placing it on certain blocks to make it play different instrument sounds),or maybe you could craft note blocks with those certain blocks and have note blocks that only play that instrument, and the type of instrument it plays should be in the note block's texture.
BlueTangs Rock3, maybe you didn't ever see a midi file? xD I have a song I exported to midi, and also mp3, size difference was astonishing, 400kb for a 10 minute song, as opposed to 10 mb, I could still here it perfectly clear, it didn't sound static or anything, juke boxes aren't even added to survival yet, that's why I went for note blocks, there in desert biomes and you can find many in one place, plus having a maximum of 5 notes means that not much space is taken up at all using a midi file..... Minecraft story mode takes up an amazing 1 GB, planet of cubes takes up around 150 MB (I forget how much exactly) so 5 MB wouldn't make much difference.
Kieranb,oh than I guess storage isn't a problem then. But they should add crafting recipes to note blocks and juke boxes(also bookshelves, and despincers, but that's unrelated).
BlueTangs Rock3,
Book shelves are there! :P I found some in jungle biome, I like the fact you need to find them instead of just crafting them, keeps you playing, and same for dispensers! But they don't have anything to trigger dispensers, remember it's Minecraft inspired, not Minecraft xD
Kieranb, redstone dust is in PoC though, and in MineCraft, despencers and note blocks are crafted with redstone, and their other crafting ingredients are in PoC too,so it doesn't make sense that they wouldn't be craftable, especially bookshelves, with how on MineCraft it's just 3 books, and 6 planks.
also there should be different blocks for the purpose of hunting for them, like ore blocks for extra ore hotspots,or original blocks
Hmmm, well if nothing else I hope this inspires you to make one of your ideas.
Kieranb,Thanks :)
Nvm, pocket edition is around 50 MB, poc is around 60 MB, regardless, 3-8 MB more would bring it close to 70 MB, still less than most apps
