I was stacking some anvils when i saw that that they dont seem to have a bottom texture. So I did some further testing, when you put an a nvil on a glass blck and look up at it has a texture. But if you stack anvils 3 high and look at the bottom of the third anvil you cant see a texture there.
Last I could recall, cactus has no bottom texture either, but it's been like that for years.
Perhaps in an attempt to cut the cost of manufacturing, the creators decided not to fill in the underside of the product. In all honesty, probably for the better. If they had tried to fill in the space, I bet the product would have cost twice it's current amount. No sir, iron ain't cheap.
