Hi,

I’ve recently started playing this game with my sons. We have a few questions that I’m sure someone will be able to answer.

1) is there only one spawn portal? (Other than the green self dropped spawn point)

2) once dropped can you move your green spawn point? (I placed mine just outside our span zone - which I see now was not a great idea)

3) do your buildings disappear if left alone for a while? (If so - how long is a while)

4) do things vanish from your chests after a “while” or has someone taken them?

5) does water and lava replenish once taken? (Will this be at the same spot it was taken from?)

6) how does the trader work at spawn?

7) do other players always attack you if they spot you outside spawn? (Very disheartening)

cheers

Hi Bob, I think I can help you with this:

1. There is a Near-infinite amount of spawn portals(as many portals as Biomes generated), each biome is a 500×500 block(50×50 coordinate) area of one of 20 different pre-made biome terrain templates with a spawn town in the central point of the area, which has spawn portals.

2. You may have to specificy more about that one to give you accurate help there.

3. Only the Global creative mode servers reset buildings, however since mid-2017 there has been a terrain role-back mechanic that re-generates all underground blocks(thus burrying your underground bases, mines, tunnels, or terraforming with stone and dirt every 24 hours, unless you made it burry-proof, which is unnecessarily complicated, and ores also regenerate too with the other underground blocks, this is either good or bad, but results in a duplication glitch-like mechanic of rare ore materials, effectively allowing you to farm things like gold or diamond.

4. Someone's tooken your stuff it seems like, chests don't have any known cases of doing that, unless you play on Single player mode(not recommended to play, it's a glitchy mess right now, lol).

5.there's ways to get infinite water in PoC Survival, it's similar to the mechanics of MineCraft's water. As for lava, like in MineCraft, it's un-renewable unless you happen to get lava from lucky blocks.

6. you get 40 free in-game coins everyday if you were active the previous day, or you can pay real money for a set amount as well, then as for the trader, it's exactly the same as the item shop which is a part of your HUD, you pay for items or blocks with in-game coins.

7. Some people are nice, but this is technically an Anarchy Server and Forum, so it's hard to trust people, as they can easily stab your back, and humiliate you on this website or on YouTube for anyone to see, as proven by the clans that came and gone.

Hopefully this helps answer some of your questions! laugh

BlueTangs Rock3, ur wrong about the realm size, it is 50 by 50 coordinates, but ur actually looking at chunks that ar 16 by 16, not 10 by 10. The actual block size is 800 by 800 blocks.

my mistake, I mixed up the numbers there, it is indeed  800×800 blocks as a coordinate is a 16×16 block space

Thank you very much! You are most helpful. I’m surprised that I occasionally see other players considering the potential world size. I figured out early on that it’s not safe to befriend anyone in game...  and agreeing to teleporting is tantamount to giving away your loot. Thanks once again.

A few more....

1) slime blocks? Why make them. Yes it’s got novelty factor as a trampoline.... anything else?

2) chickens, eggs, feathers? I’ve seen people offer these for sale on the forum. Other than eating meat, using eggs to cook meals and maybe throwing them, and feathers for...?. I mean how many eggs do people need? They’re virtually useless aren’t they?

3)because spawns/portals are dotted everywhere how far can you ever actually be away from a spawn/portal?

4) mob spawns. I know they have a set spawn. Is that a set cube or a larger region? If it’s a cube could I simply drop a block of something right on their spawn and... hey presto no more mobs?

5) are there any excellent buildings/features/biome environments that are worth visiting? - (POC tourism) if so please give coordinates.

6) is there any way of knowing if a player built structure is old or new? For example if there are plants in the garden does that mean it’s a recent (active) player or do those plants just stay there until someone takes them? (I’d hate to think I’m robbing an active player in the local biome).

7) is there a spreadsheet or list of ingredients to make potions? - I found one from 2017, any updates new potions? I’ve found you can make splash potions... not so easy to hit with though... sigh

That’s enough questions for now. I don’t want answering noob fatigue to set in. Cheers

Mystic answered most of these in a way I would've, though I feel like I should add some more information for 5, 6, and 7:

5. Every biome has at least one structure in it, some have a lot more than one, most are functional useless and only exist as decorations, some use to be useful, as they were the only places to get dyed/colored clay(as before 2018, they were uncraftable, and could only be found in certain structures in the world), though some structures are at least somewhat worth visiting.

Some jungle temples have gold ore, and lapis blocks(good to save up incase Solverlabs adds enchanting mechanics into the game someday), a stronghold in the tundra biomes have bookshelves in it's library room, in one of the forest biome presets have a massive fern feild next to spawn that if you spend a hour or two flooding all the grass with a water bucket can supply you stacks of seeds for making a farm, and in the snowy spruce tree biome preset without a frozen lake next to spawn, you can find a massive stone walled structure, with a non-snowy forest paradise inside of the walled place, the trees there are the largest source of logs of any location, as the ground is even covered in Log "roots", and the largest tree is so big that what would've been the top of it was cut off by the world block height limit.

6. Like Mystic said, there's not really any way to tell if a base(that's not completely greifed) is active or not, unless a furnace is running in the base, as it only smelts in loaded world chunks, so if the base owner left their furnaces running, and you come by later, the furnaces may still be running, other than that, you can't tell the activity of the base.

7. Potion brewing is the same as MineCraft 1.8's potion brewing (as MineCraft has added more obtainble potions PoC doesn't have since then, such as spectral, blindness, wither, levitation, slow falling, and the turtle potion), so you could look at a MineCraft potion Wiki, and look at the brewing recipes for the potions PoC has.

So far I can confirm that there's three biome presets that have strongholds in them, the jungle(the one with custom trees, not the MineCraft shaped ones), the tundra biome, and the foresty biome that used to have diamond temples, but is currently known for it's massive farm-like fern feild near the spawnzone, which is an excellent source of seeds.

However, it seems that only the tundra biome's one has bookshelves, or even a proper library at all, since every other stronghold's library rooms lack bookshelves, planks, or fences, leaving behind only a stonebrick wall and cobwebs, so only the tundra biome's library room is useful.

1.slime blocks also keep you from taking damage from high areas

2.eggs is for cakes, feathers are for arrows

3.u can be 25 coordinates from a portal, 20 from spawn zone edge

4.mob spawns are random, mob spawners dont function

5.excellent buildings, go to the realm with a house in a forest and headnorth, there is a structure, inside are trees that grow thousandsof logs

6.there is no real way to know, and robbing ispart of the game

7.search potions on forum, there are 3 articles that should tell you

Hi guy
Hi guy's picture

bob potions are made the same as minecraft

also u can never be away from a portal completely the are every 50 cordinets

any other questions message me

Hey thanks guys. I’ve never played minecraft or similar before so it’s all new to me. I love the idea of exploring and seeing the “wonders of the world” all with the extra excitement that you may get killed in doing so.  Cheers

Hi, Next questions:

1) sky bases - I presume these are made high up above the larger trees. Presumably one builds up from the tree tops with ladders so your entrance is obscured by the tree and you are high enough that it’s not seen from the ground. Correct me if I’m wrong. My questions are - what is the ceiling height limit? How high can you go? And is there a way to teleport to your base (without dying and reapawning)?

2) is there a way of finding out how many players are on the server at any one time? I’m on iOS. Also when is the most active time on the server?

3) creeper defence. I’m getting rather frustrated with these exploding creatures damaging by structures. Are there any clever designs or block use that works well to keep these exploding beasts away? (I guess a sky base would be one).

cheers

Bob, I'm probably not going to be very helpful here, but these are the only questions left and I LOVE helping new players.

1- I don't know the building height limit in blocks/chunks but I do know it is at the level of the clouds (which are actually completely flat). You cannot teleport to your base unlesss a friend is there and you tp to them. 3- Put light sources everywhere to keep them from spawning. Also creepers cannot explode iron doors/trapdoors (maybe iron bars as well? I never tested that one) or obsidian, and if anything explodes in water it will do nothing to the blocks protected by water but will give nearby mobs and players the same amount of damage as they would normally take from the explosion. So the ultimate creeper proof base would be hidden underwater and lined with obsidian with iron doors, or have water covering the outside in some way.

Silverflame, build height is 128 blocks, underground and skybases are the safest, however the regen tends to grief underground bases, and i have been playing for a few years now so i k quite a bit

1. Height limit's 128 blocks above the bottom bedrock layer, and average terrain elevation's between 63-72 blocks above bedrock, so that's less space to work with, and massive trees may be the best place to obscure a sky base(as out in the open, people with 5-6 render distance can see them), but people also destroy massive tree leaves for apples, so that's not entirely safe anywhere within 0:0 to ±500:±500, as that's what's considered inner-outer activity spawn. Then again, ±1,000:±1,000 isn't that far from Central spawn either.

If you have an alt account of yours in your base, you can to over to you base easily.

2. You can see how many people are in your veiw distance by clicking on the players list icon, but it doesn't say everybody who's on in the entire server though.

Another option is to go into the spawn portal, and look at the numbers in each location's box, it says how many people are in that biome preset region at any given time, best way to see how many people are in the biomes near 0:0 are online, but you don't see the names of them, which could be either good or bad depending on the situation.

3. Obsidian.

Creepers can still get to you in a sky base, as they spawn on any blocks where it's a little too dark, it doesn't even matter if you're right next to the space or a coordinate from it, they'll even spawn behind you or right next to you sometimes, they need to Nerf their behavior, and the monster spawning mechanic algorithm in general.

#2. There is absolutely NO way to k how many ppl are on multiplayer survival, but i can tell u that occasionally there can be 200 in one realm. There are roughly 600 on at a time but I couldn’t tell u bc the map is truly infinite

forgotten G.R.I.T.S.,I totally agree, there is no way to k for sure.

Ok. Thanks. I really appreciate your answers. So far I’ve made some pretty poor decisions. I’ve built ground level structures in the sub 500 coordinate region. In fact I’ve spent hours building a stylish stone brick home with a grand staircase and tree lined driveway... just as many hours rebuilding it after creeper attacks and from what I gather I can expect that one day I’ll log in and find my chests looted and my house Levelled. So be it. That’s the game I guess.  Next house will be in the Sky.
