I'm proud to announce the 1 year anniversary of my village I made my village 1 year ago it has been found twice and has survived many things creepers tnt fires players and more it was found once in October and once in December but hasn't been found since I am proud to have finally made a base that lived this long especially since it is above ground in a place that most people go now days here are some pictures of my wonderful village for the full thing watch Royce's video phoenix base tour
My swimming pool dealt with 3 creepers and 2 tnt but it is now fixed better then ever

My relaxing peace garden used to be a horse stable

Pingu, well is your base above ground in a place most people build and has it been found by ghe my village is alive and that's all the matters to me when I first built it I new it would eventually be found but it's been alive for a year and I'm proud to know that I may not be good at pvp but I can make a base everyone loves that's so good no one wants to destroy it
You were there at the raid and there were so many people..
It was a solo built base with a lot of obsidian and harm 2 arrows. It has a lot of wood and stuff.
Base test:
If you have no armor and no tools (Starting from scratch) and spawn in said base, can survive for a week or so without running out of resources and not dying, your base is great

I hid out in the Halloween house 1 night till morning then left.
Regarding creepers... you'd do better building with stone and/or stone bricks due to their higher blast resistance. Obsidian is best of course but that's hard to obtain. (Actually not hard, but sloooww.... ;) )
The Courier, I make my bases different now that was just my cobble base cause it's what I could get easily
Forgot to say make sure to place ample amount of lighting. No matter if torches, lightstone blocks or lamps, just put a LOT of light sources. That prevents all hostile type mobs from spawning in the area.
