Ok first you need wall overhangs best made out of glass to keep monsters from taking advantage.
The wall needs to be stone or stronger for creeper blast.
Lava moat 2 blocks wide trap doors used as a bridge will work to keep zombies out of the area around your base.
Build it in a well defendable postion to protect your base in a raid.
Build your base in a hard to get to place to keep out unwanted players.
Make escape routes so you are not trapped in a raid.
PocAdmin rember what you said greiffing a base can get people banned for one mouth.

-EN-TROLLJK,I've been figuring out either to have a sky base for monsters to be unable to get in or have multiple bases for members
Skybases are hard to get to
but if you're render distance is high enough, Supposedly you can see sky bases from the ground,and any entrance/exit from the sky bases is a way for bad players to get in. I see underground bases as a better place,because they aren't visible through the many layers of stone,or easily spotted until some random person accidentally mines into it,which might not happen for a good while.

Surface bases are pretty much a generated structure in PoC standards because of how risky and unreliable in safety they are,because lava moats,and lava walls,and cactus traps can't always protect your base from players.

By the time players find a base, it's over. These defenses are best for mobs. Maybe, JUST MAYBE, the defenses could occupy players ong enough for you to gather valueables and logout.
