So in real life,gravel is basically a pile of all kinds of rocks and minerals,and in some cases,people even find tiny traces of gold,and even Diamonds in gravel(VERY RARE though,because it's in real life n' stuff,Lol),but in PoC,gravel only drops flint,and gravel blocks itself,so... Suggestion time! xD
•Gravel would drop Nether Quartz or a cobblestone block at a 10% chance(same as flint).
•Gravel would drop iron nuggets at a 8% chance.
•Gravel would drop gold nuggets,or a lapis lazuli piece at a 5%
•Gravel would drop a diamond nugget or emerald nugget at a 2% chance
Note:it takes 9 nuggets to make a regular version of the item,and diamond and emerald nuggets are a 2% chance gravel drop,but keep in mind,gravel is a VERY common block!
Also this next statement has nothing to do with gravel,but:
When you mine an ore,the ore should also drop 1 cobblestone per ore(because there ore block texture has stone in it,but you currently only get ore,and not any cobblestone block?)

Finally! Gravel can be used for something! I also think that when you spawn the first time, you should start out with 10 Porkchop, Wooden Tools, a full set of leather armor, and 4 planks of wood.
I don't know about that... isn't the fun about this game collecting those items yourself? But regardless,I'm glad that you like my suggestion! :D
BlueTangs Rock3, Yeah, I thought about that. The reason is that, first, leather armor breaks super quick. Wooden tools break super quick. Noobs always starve to death when they first spawn, because they are always running and fighting enemies. A small supply of food would give those players a kickstart and avoid them from rage-quitting. The 4 planks of wood can be used to build a workbench, as there are no trees at main spawn. That makes it hard to gather wood without being followed and killed.
true,maybe they could buy a crafting table,and some bread in the in-game shop menu,I'm not sure...
