I was just enchanting when it gave me an option for thorns 3. And I had someone that was gonna pay me 32 diamond blocks for it. But then when I took it it said I had a book of sharpness 4 instead of my thorns. What happened there???

yeah theres a bug where it says that youll get a certain enchantment, but you end up getting another one
it is not a glitch it happens in mincraft to. the third enchantment always has a very small chance of being the enchantment it says it is. when their are few or no bookshelves at all the enchantment tables 3rd enchantment will normaly be the enchantment it says it will be but the enchantment normaly bad.
From what I've heard of, in MineCraft, the third/most expensive enchantment option usually gives you the enchantment it says, but it also has the highest chance of adding an extra enchantment with the enchantment you already had.
An example of this scenario would be if you were enchanting a pickaxe and the third/most expensive enchantment option said Efficiency II, clicking on that enchantment option would likely give you an extra enchantment, and instead of getting a pickaxe with only Efficiency II, you'll get an extra enchantment with it, and the pickaxe could now have Efficiency II and Unbreaking I.
The issue I hear about the enchantments on PoC seems to be more of a PoC issue.
