what are The Emerald ores used for? Please add a use for them so people have a reason to get them. Maybe they can be traded in for coins?

I wish emeralds can be traded for coins, either way, how do I get Emerald blocks? I only have the one ;-;
Pingu, Emerald ore is way to easy to obtain to be traded for coins, there's a whole load of them in the cave under the desert temple, Which spawns in the same place and under every desert temple every time. There is no way making any kind of ore or blocks tradable for coins would work because they can be easily farmed.
ALITTARY, But then what if it can be used for something else? Even if it is tradeable for coins, won't that make more people explore and log on the game to look for that ore, and then they unlock more realms, then people move more out to look for more farms and so that they don't get griefed. Example: Group of friends 1 gets griefed because Group of friends 2 found their base. Group 1 does not want to get griefed so they all to somewhere where the realms are unexplored. Group 1 then eventually get griefed by other settlers, or they stay and log on every day for coins.
I also just want there to be a use for that thing other than decoration.
I am still confused on how to obtain the emerald blocks without using coins and stuff.

maybe a spawn zone trader can transfer emeralds to coins so people are all in spawn???

I think that they should at least add the emerald gem item in, so when you mine emerald ore, it drops the emerald gem, so you could at least craft the emerald block out of it.

BlueTangs Rock3, But then they wouldn't be as valuable as rewards, because once again they are extremely easy to obtain.
They could always end up replacing emerald ore rewards for another block that players can't currently obtain (like the various prismarine blocks for example), or make their own unique resource that's only obtainable via event rewards. It doesn't make much sense to sacrifice the most basic use of an ore resource; the ability to craft it into a block, in order to keep emerald blocks in artificial scarcity.
Nearly all other ore resources in PoC can be turned into blocks of themselves (with the exception of coal, but it's only a matter of time before they add Coal blocks);
9 iron ingots make an iron block
9 gold ingots make a gold block
9 lapis lazuli make a lapis block
9 redstone dust make a redstone block
9 diamonds make a diamond block
4 quartz make a quartz block
Why should we sacrifice the most basic use of all ore resources from emerald ore in the name of event rewards?
