How about you get rid of battle mode, Nobody likes it. Maybe add a feature so you can choose PvP On or Off in spawn. I mean that seems like the best idea, and that way nobody is angry if it is on or off and you can get rid of the ridiculous battle mode thing that afk gets me killed sometimes. So like on the top of the screen right under the cords it will say PvP Mode, and you can switch between On, Off, or Battle Mode because Ik yall like it even though the players don't.

And without battle mode what is going to stop people from raiding are bases if you don't want to fight stay in private maps or spawn zones but I like fighting and poc has always had it and I don't think it should be removed
I love fighting and pvp is my life, but battle mode killed the game. Pvp was much more fun before

Battle mode prevents some shenanigans (like logging off or buying items from the store in the midst of battle). As for the option to turn it off, the Survival game mode bears its name for a reason. If people do not like the concept of survival, they can choose plenty of other game modes: Private Maps, Creative modes, Singleplayer modes.
