non-player character or a computer controlled player inside a spawn town. When you approach the non-player character and click on him it opens up a message slash conversation with him.
The non-player character tells you something like:
" wow there is a lot of birch trees out there in the world but I am too scared to go get the wood can you please bring me 24 Birch planks? This will help me build my house!"
Or he could say something like :
" I'm scared of all the zombies can you please kill them for me? Kill 20 zombies for me and I will feel safe! Bring me 20 rotten flesh so I know they're dead!"
Then you go quest to get the item for the non-player character and you bring it back to him. When you click on him he says:
Then the non-player character removes the quest item from your inventory. And he adds golden Enchanted apples to your inventory or something like that.:-)
You could also add experience points which add up slowly and when you get enough you could get an extra heart in your life meter or something like that!.

Just an example of how quest grinding ends up badly... I have played too many MMORPGs.
I love the idea, maybe Solverlabs will make quests interesting and diffucult for good rewards. Maybe these quests will lead to a Single-Player/Multiplayer story mode!
KidIcarus, lol yeah true! Perhaps the reward items could be something awesome and harder to get Than Dirt LMAO like I suggested maybe golden Enchanted apples gold blocks rabbits feet something cool like that in addition to possibly experience points that could level you up to a point where you got more hearts:-)
KidIcarus, also if they just added the quests into the current survival multiplayer it would just add another level of things to do to entertain people and keep them playing longer :-) not everyone would do it some people wouldn't ever do it but some people do it all the time just another feature :-)

Maybe there could be a guild house in each spawn, and all the NPCs are there.
Hunter, Fisherman, Lumberjack, Blacksmith, Miner, etc.
Maybe NPCs could also help fight monsters at spawn! They will be AI units that fight endermen, spiders, zombies, creepers, and so on.

Smart Noob,some could be like a mob where if you say the wrong thing they become hostile and attack you. And then don't appear again for a while. Or if they were in spawn towns it would be just like another player and you wouldn't be able to attack them. :-)
I have a different idea about NPC Villagers. Lol
