Just make the base FARR AWAY and make it UNDERGROUND and modify with the terrain as little as possible.

A long long time ago I've done your strategy 2 times.
No1 I built an abandoned cobblestone castle and if you break a specific block on the floor you will lead to the base.
No2 I dug a mine quarry and if you broke the stairs it will lead to a base
It actually did get raided because the entrance was exposed but my base under the stairs survived.

Underground bases aren’t that fun tbh.You can’t make them fancy.

Also its not done ignore the ores
u can make a fake base leading to a big cool real base (make the fake trashy and abandoned like it was burned.)

I love underground bases there's so much potential with them!

Helpful tip when making a base underground make sure the entrance isn't easily noticeable I no longer have entrances to my bases I just tp in and out
Phøenix, you can also put dirt/sand on the stairs so people wont think of it
