If they had a computer, they could try out MineTest; it's a free game engine that supports many types of gamepacks (the most iconic/well-known gamepack being the default one which is a basic Minecraft-like sandbox game), servers, maps, texture packs, and mods (even coming with a really good and easily accessible modding API that makes adding mods to your gamepack or world quite simple).
There's also a pretty large, active, and long-running community for MineTest on the Official Minetest forums, Discord, and GitHub.
If you're looking for a good and free alternative to replace PoC with, I'd definitely recommend Minetest.
It's available on Windows, Linux, and Mac (and also technically there's a mobile version, and tons of stolen forks of the game on the Google Play Store as well, but we shall never speak about those ones, Lol).

On computer versions, you can just download the game for free on the official Minetest website.
As shown here, you just click download, and you'd be able to get the game downloaded.
The initial process of opening the game once you download the game does get a little for me since there's both a zipped and unzipped folder for Minetest to deal with which gets me a lil' mixed up at times, but I could link you to the Minetest forums or Minetest Discord which would have people who could better understand or remember the initial downloading process, but once you can set a computer shortcut to the Minetest application it's pretty easy to open up.

Throughout the years many of my PoC friends had quit for many various reasons (though most of them were related to how mis-managed and upsetting to game balance updates since mid-2017 and since had become which ruin both the point or fun of the game, removing support from certain emulators in mid-2017 that many of the old prominent members of PoC used to use, the game getting them stuck in a constantly crashing/lagging/connecting load loop, loss in interest of the game due to no significant changes in game progression or End-game so the game is no longer fun after some point, never getting to experience features that developers had promised since 2016 that still never see the light of day, etc).

Very recently, my PoC friends Gaara and Dar Kuma had also quit PoC for their own reasons.

I'm probably going to quit PoC soon as well, unless they fix the intense frame-rate freezes and lag spikes that I've been experiencing in-game ever since that woodland mansion change from a couple months ago; no matter where I'm at, or no matter what's going on around me, I'll always get an experience where the game will run perfectly fine between 30-60 FPS for a few minutes, then suddenly there's a significant drop my frame-rate down to 0-3 FPS for a few minutes before going back to normal FPS for a couple more minutes, and the lag cycle infinitely continues until I eventually give up and get off the game out of frustration.

And if I'm even using the friend chat messaging screen on the main menu it can get so laggy that I'll actually full-on crash, so it's not even just an issue in-game but instead a persistent issue I experience the entire time I have the app open.

The most irritating part of it is that before that update, by game ran completely fine (averaging between a good 40-60 FPS) and the game rarely ever dipped below 30 FPS unless I was in high-lag areas like main spawns, so this is a pretty recently occuring issue that effectively prevents me from playing.
I'll never leave I may be bored but I have tons of friends here and in a way POC is actually really fun I finally almost have maxed armor and it has thorns so I'm actually having a lot of fun just wish there was more to do

I found when making a few threads that my post would be reviewed, you can re edit your post and re save then it will become live and people can respond.
I don't think it happens too much for the comments.

I've also found that if I accidentally marked one of my posts as a "hot thread", the moderation review message also shows up.
Though I've also found that if I edited my post to remove the "hot thread" tag, then the moderation review message goes away.
Pingu, thx all right, i wonder how much time must pass, until im not considered "new" anymore :)
i play the game itself like a year ago or so. but maybe this is not important anymore since i discovered minetest, kind of abandoned POC. i guess i will check back later to see, how much POC was going to be improved.

BlueTangs Rock3,minetest is for money not for free
Not true. You can download Minetest for free on Windows, Linux, and Mac by going on Minetest's official website;
https://www.minetest.net/
BlueTangs Rock3,
Minetest is garbage
How so? I've had a pretty good experience with the computer versions, so I'd be curious to hear about your perspective on it.
(The mobile version's kinda trash though, so I wouldn't recommend that one)
BlueTangs Rock3,
I tried the mobile version out, my PC is old and slow.
BlueTangs Rock3,thx
No problem
If you need help with anything Minetest related, I can try to help out, or I can direct you to other established Minetest players
hitesh, I'm not sure where you got the misinformation about Minetest costing money from.
Unless you're talking about unofficial forks of Minetest, which are indeed unofficial.
BlueTangs Rock3,i have searched in microsoft store it is for 199 ruppes

Sorry to hear that :( We hope one day Planet of Cubes will become appealing to you once more.
0-3frames.
That reminds me of the time when zombies would spawn endlessly; every creature was on fire.

you can change it afterwards by a re edit.

If you are new to the forums, the admins would moderate your comments and stuff, usually taking like a day or a few weeks.
