This has been a problem litterally since I first got the game at least 3-4 years ago. There's this lighting issue where some areas are just extremely dark for no reason even if i add light. I place a block on top of the dark area then mine it and it goes away temporarily until i leave and come back. Not even Fancy graphics helps because for some reason it only has better shading on some blocks. It can't be a device issue that only I can see because I have three accounts and I can see it on all three, it's even worse on my 1st account. On my tablet the blocks with this lighting issue are literally pitch black.
Occasionally this happens to me. I don't know why it happens
Yea. It's so annoying though, If I knew why it happened I could explain it properly but it's kind of random to be honest. If I had to guess it's probably an issue with certain blocks, like how light goes through slabs and stairs for some reason.
i have noticed that to i think it is just natural though because lights have a radious of light and it gets darker as it gets out of the light sorces radious for instance torches have a light radious of 16 and lava has 18 (if im right) but since the light is farhter away the light is lower
though i have bin wondering about the light levels in the 2nd picture on the roof. i have seen that happen when im mineing out an area in my loot mine. since i dont have very many torches the light is very low but in some places the stone looks very bright. at one time i thought it was a different kind of stone of something but it was just normal stone
Torches are light level 14, and lava sources are light level 15. Nothing in the game is brighter than 16, as 16 is the max light level.
It's not natural though, there's a certain amount of darkness that blocks have. That is beyond it lol. Even when i add glowstones it's still there. I can get it to temporarily go away but it comes back when i go out of render distance of the chunks.
I can show you pictures of what it looks like on my tablet, without higher definition and shading quality on my PC. It's not natural lol
Try turning on fancy mode.it works a bit for me
Gabriel N., Fancy graphics were on.
I keep original mode on it looks better. Also you can change it in the options it so the light levels r smooth and you won't see the different light levels
