R u talking about apple temples? And maybe he is searching in low coords,cause maybe if u stay at high coords all the time,then the chests at that realm will respawn
i happen to be a guy that knows how to find an apple temple with loads of chests.i went to one,and found alot of bones,gunpowder,gapples,i didnt take the string,seeds,or rotten flesh.also ench books and horse armor.and i doubt u wouldve told me
I think only trees and a houses with less than 3 chest will spawn loot now, if a house of more than 4 chest has loot in every chest that would be OP but if it's true please tell me because I'm poor ;}

Something similar to the lucky blocks situation will happen, get all you can while it's good because I bet at some point they will change It a bit.

BigCatClanCaroleBaskin, There's never loot in every chest the most loot I've found concentrated in 1 area was the stronghold with about 6-8 garenteed loot chest. Any other building with stacks of chest only have 1 with loot in them or none at all.
I honestly can't tell if this loot thing is an intentional game feature or a bug. On one hand, this seems too good to be an intentional game feature. On the other, I've noticed that the frequency of certain items have been changed when you compare them to the chests you find 2 years ago, so maybe this whole thing was thought out.
I kinda hope this is just an event thing because while the stuff is cool, It honestly just feels a bit cheaty. On the other side, this may disperse the mansion campers and spawn campers causing them to stop sitting around spawn doing nothing.
Ok nevermind what I said about houses only containing 3 loot chest, It seems every premade structure spawns loot in every chest except the snowlands structures with piles of chest. This I even more OP than I thought...

Gabriel Grizzly, wasting time travel to to temples, go to biomes with buildings right outside spawn. lots od chests in them
There are approx. 60 chests in this one building, right outside spawn. There are like 8 more buildings with chests around the biome

I opened some unexplored Holmes, chests were empty today. My final apple count. Shoulda grabbed more gun powder for dynamite. Lol. It was a good run.

Whyy
It was probably a glitch because the natural chests are glowing (because of mansion) and maybe loot spawned in the chests
I don't knw pingu, but I have found some of these places just exploring but never found anything in the chests
